After five years of dedication, two of which I spent as president of the European Nuclear Society (ENS) and four in the Spanish Nuclear Society (SNE), first as vice-president and then as president, on March 6 it was time to hand over this position to the new president.
These years have been extremely enriching thanks to the professionalism and commitment of all the members of the SNE. I could not have performed this role without the selfless work of the board and all the committees, including Young Nuclear (YNN), Women in Nuclear (WIN) and the 50th Anniversary working group. Their support was critical, especially considering my work at the University of the Caribbean in the Dominican Republic during this time.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the standing committee and, in particular, to Julio Blanco, who has taken on much of the organizational burden. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he returns to being the great person he has always been. Thank you, Julio, I will never forget your loyalty.
To all the members, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will always be willing to collaborate with the Spanish Nuclear Society (SNE) to the extent that I feel I can be useful.
