UNICARIBE hosts the first presentation of the report in the region
On the occasion of the launch of the Center for Citizen Cybersecurity (CCC), the “Cybersecurity Report 2025: vulnerability and maturity challenges to close gaps in Latin America and the Caribbean” prepared by the Organization of American States (OAS) was presented for the first time.
The report was presented by Carlos Baena, an official of the OAS Cybersecurity Section, who emphasized in his presentation that “the focus should be on the resilience of essential services in terms of cybersecurity, and that the best model is one that combines state capacity, cooperation with the private sector, protection of rights and international coordination”.
The report offers a vision of the progress achieved between 2020 and 2025. Baena, who has been its main researcher, showed the attendees the different levels of maturity of the countries in the region, and was able to highlight how the Dominican Republic has made profound changes and investments to improve the digital security infrastructure in the country.
It also highlights the work of the National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS) in the Dominican Republic, as one of its main axes and important assets in the fight against cyber threats.
