The General Directorate of Public-Private Partnerships (DGAPP) and the Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE) signed a collaboration agreement to strengthen specialized training in public-private partnerships in the Dominican Republic.
The agreement, signed by the executive director of the DGAPP, Andrés Lugo Risk, and the rector of the Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE), Dr. Ricardo A. Ramírez-Mendoza, will allow the implementation of the Diploma in Management and Private Financing of Infrastructure and Public Services, aimed at training professionals in the design, management and evaluation of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) projects, under the framework of Law No. 47-20 on Public-Private Partnerships.

The partnership also includes academic validation, scholarships through the APPRENDIENDO program, specialized technical support and the strengthening of the link between academia and the public sector.
This initiative reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to continuous training, the development of human capital and the expansion of a solid, technical PPP culture aligned with the country’s infrastructure, sustainability and economic and social development needs.
The Deputy Director of Promotion of the DGAPP, Izalia López, and the Dean of the School of Municipal Administration, Political Communication and Digital Marketing, Altagracia Tavarez, played a key role in the rapprochement between the two institutions.
