The Award for Transformative Educational Research and Evaluation recognizes studies that drive real change in Dominican education. Nominations are open through August 10.
The Dominican Institute for the Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (IDEICE), under the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic, has announced the call for entries for the 2026 Award for Transformative Educational Evaluation and Research (PREIET), now in its second edition. This initiative seeks to recognize and highlight research that brings about concrete changes in teaching practices and educational management in the country.
The Office of the Vice Rector for Research at UNICARIBE calls on our entire academic and scientific community to review this call for papers and consider submitting their work. This is a platform with national and international reach that brings educational research to the attention of decision-makers, academic institutions, and public policy organizations.
FOUR COMPETITION CATEGORIES:
Category A – Research Career
For researchers with more than 5 years of continuous and significant contributions to the field of education.
Category B – Transformative Impact
Projects with at least 3 years of positive and sustainable results in schools.
Category C – Emerging Researcher
Intended for young researchers aged 18 to 34 who have shown high potential in their early work.
Category D – Special Recognition
The report highlights innovative methodologies that improve learning and educational management.
Each category includes two awards: a metal plaque and a certificate of honor. The winning entries will be presented to public policy makers and showcased at national and international events.

We urge our faculty members, researchers, academics, and research groups to review the terms of reference for each category and begin preparing their applications. Teams and institutions may submit proposals in more than one category. The Office of the Vice President for Research will support the submission process as part of our commitment to research.
