As part of the celebration of World Water Day, last Friday, March 21, a group of students from the Environmental Management and Renewable Energy program of the Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE), accompanied by Mr. Julián Peña, Director of the program, made an enriching technical visit to the facilities of the Dominican National Brewery (CND).

During the tour, participants were able to learn about the industrial processes involved in the production of well-known brands such as Presidente, One and Corona. However, the main focus of the visit was the sustainable management of water resources in the company, highlighting the water treatment, reuse and optimization strategies implemented by CND to minimize its environmental footprint and promote efficiency in its production chain.

This experience allowed the future environmental managers to broaden their understanding of the importance of responsible water management in the industry, as well as its positive impact on the conservation of ecosystems. The students highlighted CND’s commitment to sustainability, evidenced in its production practices and aligned with the principles of circular economy.

Undoubtedly, this initiative strengthens the academic and professional training of our students, providing them with essential tools and knowledge to face contemporary environmental challenges and promote a more sustainable and balanced development.
