Dominican Republic. Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE), through its internationalization initiatives, inaugurated a photographic exhibition in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Dominican Republic.
The theme of this photo exhibition is“Coexistence between Nature and Human Being“, and the 40 works reflect China’s cultural and natural diversity. They constitute both a shared cultural heritage of humanity and a living sample of China’s achievements in this new era. It is through the silent language of photography that the UNICARIBE community can better understand China’s natural and cultural landscape.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public for the next two weeks, aims to bring the vast culture, ancient traditions and natural landscapes of the Asian country closer to the student and teaching community.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by academic authorities, undergraduate students of the institution and a special group of cadets from the Caribbean Military Academy (AMC).
All of them had the opportunity to take a visual tour of the exhibited works, which reflect the rich history and evolution of Chinese society.
The central words of the event highlighted the excellent bilateral relationship and the value of this artistic exhibition as a tool for academic and diplomatic enrichment.
Likewise, through the rector Dr. Ricardo A. Ramírez Mendoza, this university expressed its deepest gratitude to the cultural delegate, Mr. Du Changman, and Maria Tang, representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, for making this magnificent cultural exchange experience possible. Also present at the event were the Academic Vice Chancellor, Ms. Elisa González and the Vice Chancellor of Student Services, Dr. Sócrates Aguasvivas, as well as other university executives.

With this type of activities, UNICARIBE reaffirms its commitment to promote a comprehensive and multicultural learning environment, enriching university life and strengthening institutional partnerships at the global level and reiterates its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 17 on “Partnerships to achieve the goals”).
