Santo Domingo, February 7, 2025. The Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE) and the company EGERSA Solar Technologies signed a strategic collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening the training of professionals in the field of renewable energy and environmental management.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by representatives from both institutions. Representing EGERSA Solar at the head table were Commercial Manager Edward Hilario, Operations Manager Iván García, and Administrative Manager Xiomara Figueroa. On behalf of UNICARIBE, the event was attended by Rector Emilio Mínguez.
During the signing, the Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management and Renewable Energy, Eng. Julián Camilo Peña, emphasized the importance of academic collaboration with companies as a path to achieving innovations that benefit society. Meanwhile, UNICARIBE Rector Emilio Mínguez highlighted the significance of this alliance for the development and growth of renewable energy in the country, reaffirming the university’s commitment to fostering knowledge and research in this sector. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between academia and the business sector to promote projects with national and international impact.
For his part, Edward Hilario, Commercial Manager of EGERSA Solar, noted that this agreement represents an opportunity to align the company’s vision and mission with the training of new professionals in the field. “This agreement will allow us to actively contribute to the training of specialists who, through their knowledge and commitment, will promote sustainability and the efficient use of renewable energy,” said Hilario, adding that this partnership marks the beginning of a long-lasting and fruitful relationship.
This agreement between UNICARIBE and EGERSA Solar Technologies will begin with the creation of an Environmental and Renewable Energy Laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art solar panels, infrared cameras, batteries, charge controllers, digital consumption monitors, and other tools that will allow students to apply their knowledge in renewable energy.
