As part of the academic activities of the Port Administration program, students made a technical visit to the Port of Haina on April 9, 2025, as part of the Port Operations Practice course.

The main purpose was to offer students a direct experience with real port operations, allowing them to observe in the field the loading and unloading processes, internal logistics, operational management and port security controls.

This activity seeks to reinforce the knowledge acquired in the classroom through observation and analysis of the daily activities that take place in an active port environment.

The Port of Haina represents one of the most important logistic nodes in the country, both for its volume of operations and its strategic relevance in national and international trade. Learning about its operations provides students with a clear vision of the challenges, protocols and requirements of the port environment.

In addition, this visit strengthens key competencies such as critical thinking, analytical skills, understanding of port regulations and the development of a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and operational safety.

During the tour, the students were guided by port technical staff, who explained each of the areas visited, such as the container yards, inspection area, berthing docks and temporary storage spaces. Topics such as the use of technologies in port management, sustainability measures and synergies between the port and other foreign trade players were also discussed.

Undoubtedly, this activity represents a valuable opportunity to link theory with practice and continue training professionals committed to the development of the country’s logistics and port sector.

Congratulations to our future professionals for their active participation in this academic experience!
