The Summit brought together 19 Dominican institutions, including universities, technological institutes and representatives of the public and private sectors, who agreed on the need to articulate a joint strategy to attract international resources in order to promote, strengthen and make visible the country’s scientific research and technological development.

The working sessions were conducive to the exchange of experiences, the creation of collaboration networks and the analysis of concrete opportunities for the formulation of internationally competitive projects, consolidating a space for dialogue between academia, the productive sector and public institutions.

The university authorities emphasized that this meeting responds to the institutional vision of positioning UNICARIBE as a regional reference in research, innovation and international cooperation, actively contributing to the sustainable development of the Caribbean and the Dominican Republic.

The event was made possible thanks to the strategic vision of the rector, Dr. Ricardo A. Ramírez-Mendoza, and the chancellor, Dr. José Alejandro Aybar M., who reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening research and the internationalization of the Dominican university system.
