Guayaquil, Ecuador – September 23, 2025.
Innovatec presents the “Innovatec 2025 Educational Ranking – Educational and Innovative Excellence” Award to the University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE).
In the framework of the Innovatec International Meeting and Innovative Leaders 2025, held today at the Universidad Espíritu Santo (UEES), venue of the event in Guayaquil, Innovatec awarded the “Innovatec 2025 Educational Ranking – Educational and Innovative Excellence” Award to the Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE). With this recognition, UNICARIBE is positioned as the 27th most innovative university in Ibero-America according to the Innovatec 2025 ranking.
The award was received by the Chancellor, Dr. José Alejandro Aybar, and the Administrative Vice Chancellor, Shahily Pimentel. The award was presented by Josu Gómez Barrutia, president of Innovatec, accompanied by Laura Suárez, CEO Talent Hub.
“This recognition reaffirms our commitment to academic quality, applied research and educational innovation in the Caribbean region and Ibero-America,” said Dr. José Alejandro Aybar upon receiving the award. Shahily Pimentel emphasized that “the distinction encourages UNICARIBE to continue strengthening programs, alliances and technologies that favor the integral formation of our students”.
For Innovatec, the ranking seeks to recognize institutions that integrate innovative pedagogical practices, research with social impact and effective links with the productive and community environment. The Innovatec International Meeting and Innovative Leaders 2025 brought together educational authorities, researchers and managers to share experiences and promote inter-institutional collaboration.
The universities that received the top five places are:
- UEES Universidad Espiritu Santo (Ecuador).
- Technological University of Monterrey (Mexico).
- ECOTEC (Ecuador).
- Universidad Continental (Peru).
- UNIR (Spain).
