Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The Vice Rector’s Office for Research of the Universidad del Caribe (UNICARIBE) announced the beginning of its institutional accompaniment route for the FONDOCYT 2026 call, the National Fund for Innovation and Scientific and Technological Development, promoted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT).

The objective of this initiative is to support teachers and researchers in the preparation, strengthening and presentation of proposals with scientific and social impact, ensuring compliance with the technical and academic criteria required by FONDOCYT.

The accompaniment route will begin on February 6 with the official launch and contemplates an internal registration that will close on February 23, the deadline for accessing institutional accompaniment. Subsequently, a workshop to strengthen proposals will be held in the last week of February, followed by a validation and technical review process in early March, culminating with the final submission of proposals to the FONDOCYT platform on March 15.

UNICARIBE invites the academic community to actively participate in this process, emphasizing that the projects must have scientific and social impact, a Principal Investigator assigned to the National Research Career (CNI) and institutional support. However, the Vice Rector’s Office for Research clarifies that those who are not yet part of the CNI can register and receive support for their training and incorporation process.

From the Office of the Vice Rector for Research, the university reaffirms its commitment to scientific excellence, innovation and the strengthening of the Dominican research ecosystem, providing technical advice and continuous support so that proposals meet the highest standards and can be successfully submitted to FONDOCYT 2026.
