Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – The Vice Rector’s Office for Research of the University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE) invites its academic community to participate in the MOOC virtual course “Open and Inclusive STI: collaborate to transform”, which is free of charge. This is a regional initiative supported by the International Development Research Center (IDRC) of Canada, aimed at strengthening capacities in science, technology and innovation (STI) through collaborative and open approaches.
The course is promoted by institutions such as the Commission for the Scientific and Technological Development of Central America and Panama (CTCAP), the General Secretariat of the Central American University Superior Council (CSUCA), the Central American Integration System (SICA), the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation of Panama (SENACYT), among other highly relevant institutions with which the Dominican Republic collaborates through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), Technology and Innovation of Panama (SENACYT), among other highly relevant institutions with which the Dominican Republic collaborates through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), as part of a continuing education program focused on open and inclusive STI with social impact.
The MOOC has a duration of 30 hours and offers conceptual and practical tools on open innovation, intersectoral collaboration and generation of solutions from the CTI, and is developed in a massive, open and online modality (self-managed and asynchronous), facilitating access to professionals, researchers and actors of the innovation ecosystem in the region. The student will have access from February 9 to February 27 to complete the content, then, the platform will be closed and those who have completed all the modules will receive a certificate.
The Vice Rector’s Office for Research invites teachers and students to take this course to strengthen their capacities in regional cooperation and science, technology and innovation.
