The Second Ibero-American Tourism Forum, held in Santa Marta, Colombia, brought together more than 1,000 attendees, including tourism service providers, entrepreneurs, government authorities, representatives of academia and local communities. Wandy Robles, dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism of the University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE), participated actively in representation of the Dominican academia.
This intervention reaffirms UNICARIBE’s commitment to strengthening international academic dialogue, regional cooperation and the promotion of sustainable and inclusive tourism in Ibero-America.
During the forum, Dean Wandy Robles participated in various workshops and conferences, sharing experiences, best practices and perspectives on tourism development in the Dominican Republic, as well as the challenges and opportunities facing the region in terms of tourism education. His presence was key to strengthening ties with counterpart institutions in Latin America and Europe, positioning the Dominican academy as a benchmark in the training of professionals in the tourism sector.
This visit represents a significant step towards the internationalization of knowledge and the strengthening of academic collaboration networks, contributing to the development of tourism in Ibero-America and highlighting UNICARIBE’s leadership in the sector.
