In January 2025, we were selected as experts to contribute with scientific advice in Latin America and the Caribbean by the International Science Council’s Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean (ISC RFP-LAC). This organization collaborates with ParlAmericas, an institution that promotes parliamentary diplomacy and cooperative political dialogue, facilitates the exchange of good legislative practices and produces customized resources to support parliamentarians in their work in the Inter-American system.

As a representative of our UNICARIBE, we participated in the Pilot Project on Science Mentoring in Latin America and the Caribbean, held during 2025, receiving certification that states:
Dr. Clara Elisa Tapia: On behalf of the International Science Council Regional Focal Point for Latin America and the Caribbean (ISC RFP-LAC), in collaboration with ParlAmericas, it is a great honor to formally certify your participation in the Pilot Project on Parliamentary Scientific Advice in Latin America and the Caribbean. We are pleased to confirm that she participated in the virtual session on Parliamentary Scientific Advice held on Monday, November 4, 2025, where she contributed as a guest expert on the topic of Food Security.

During the session, which included the participation of a ParlAmericas parliamentarian, you made an outstanding intervention, providing thoughtful and valuable insights in response to the specific questions posed. Your expertise and clarity of presentation enriched the dialogue and contributed greatly to the success of this initiative.

These initiatives are part of the internationalization, university and scientific linkage actions promoted and encouraged by UNICARIBE within the framework of international strengthening.
