UNICARIBE and EGERSA Solar announce free photovoltaic energy course as a pre-congress activity for the II International Congress on Water Scarcity and Energy Resources.

Within the framework of the upcoming II International Congress on Water Scarcity and Energy Resources, to be held at the University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE), a pre-congress course has been scheduled to expand technical knowledge in renewable energy, especially in photovoltaic systems for domestic use.

The course, entitled “Introduction to the Sizing of Domestic Photovoltaic Installations”, will be held on November 20, 2025 and will have a certified duration of 4 hours. Participants who complete the course will receive an official certificate issued jointly by UNICARIBE and EGERSA Solar, endorsing the training received.

This initiative, totally free of charge, seeks to train professionals, students, technicians and the general public interested in the development of sustainable energy solutions and the implementation of solar systems as an efficient and ecological alternative.

During the course, fundamental topics will be addressed such as:

  • Basic concepts of solar energy and operation of photovoltaic panels.
  • Analysis of domestic electricity consumption.
  • Calculation of energy demand and sizing of photovoltaic systems.
  • Selection and configuration of main components such as panels, batteries and inverters.
  • Installation, maintenance and optimization of solar home systems.

This course is part of the activities of the II International Congress on Water Scarcity and Energy Resources, to be held on November 21 and 22, 2025, with the aim of promoting academic, technical and professional exchange on the sustainable management of natural resources, technological innovation and strategies to address the water and energy crisis at the local and regional level.

Water scarcity and limited access to clean energy sources are critical challenges for sustainable development. Therefore, the Congress and previous activities such as this course seek to encourage the adoption of renewable energies, mainly solar energy, which represents a viable alternative for communities and households that require efficient, economical and environmentally friendly energy solutions.
